Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups shredded canned chicken (drained)
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
- 1/2 cup bacon bits (divided)
- 3 green onions (chopped, divided)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Drain and shred the canned chicken if needed to ensure tender, easy-to-mix pieces. Finely chop the green onions and shred the cheddar cheese if not pre-shredded.
- Mix Cream Cheese and Ranch Dressing Mix: Soften the cream cheese by microwaving briefly, about 20 seconds, then stir in the ranch dressing mix until fully combined.
- Combine Chicken and Cheese: Add the shredded chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, and half of the bacon bits to the cream cheese mixture. Fold gently but thoroughly to evenly mix all the ingredients.
- Bake Until Bubbling: Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining bacon bits and chopped green onions. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers such as tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- You can substitute cooked fresh chicken if preferred, but canned chicken offers convenience.
- For extra creaminess, try adding a splash of sour cream or mayonnaise.
- Use gluten-free crackers or veggie sticks as dippers for a gluten-free option.
- Make sure the cream cheese is well softened to mix smoothly with the ranch seasoning.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
