Ingredients
Scale
Burger Patties
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Toppings and Assembly
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
Teriyaki Glaze
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Mix the Patty Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, teriyaki sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
- Cook the Patties: Preheat a grill or a stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the heat and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place one slice of American cheese on each patty to melt thoroughly.
- Prepare the Teriyaki Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, honey, and soy sauce. Heat over medium heat while stirring occasionally for 2-3 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
- Assemble the Burgers: Place the cooked patties on the toasted buns. Drizzle the teriyaki glaze generously over each patty, then add your choice of optional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
- Serve: Serve the burgers hot with your favorite sides like fries, chips, or a fresh salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
Notes
- For juicier burgers, use ground beef with 20% fat content.
- Toasting the buns adds extra texture and prevents sogginess from the glaze.
- Adjust the sweetness of the teriyaki glaze by modifying the honey quantity to taste.
- If you don’t have a grill, a heavy skillet or cast iron pan works well on the stovetop.
- Feel free to add other toppings like avocado or sautéed mushrooms for variety.
