Description

A quick and flavorful Sweet & Spicy Ramen Noodles recipe featuring tender instant ramen tossed in a zesty sauce made with soy, honey, sriracha, garlic, and ginger. This dish balances sweet, spicy, and savory notes perfectly, garnished with sesame seeds, green onions, and crushed peanuts for added texture and taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • 1-2 tbsp water (to adjust sauce consistency)

Garnishes (Optional)

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions
  • Crushed peanuts

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, typically by boiling in water for 3-4 minutes until tender. Drain the noodles and set aside, reserving a small amount of the pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency later if needed.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to thin out the sauce to your desired consistency.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics: Heat a small amount of sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant and slightly golden, enhancing their flavors.
  4. Combine Noodles with Sauce: Add the cooked ramen noodles to the pan with the sautéed garlic and ginger. Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and toss gently to coat evenly. If the sauce appears too thick, add a little of the reserved noodle water to loosen it and ensure all noodles are nicely coated.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Once the noodles are fully coated and heated through, transfer them to serving bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and crushed peanuts as desired for extra flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Adjust sriracha quantity based on your preferred spice level.
  • Substitute honey with maple syrup to make the recipe vegan-friendly.
  • Reserve some noodle cooking water to adjust sauce consistency as needed.
  • Use freshly grated ginger for the best flavor, but ground ginger works as a substitute.
  • Add vegetables like bok choy or bell peppers for added nutrition and color.
