Description

This Sweet & Savory Honey Garlic Sausage recipe combines succulent sausage links with a flavorful glaze made from honey, garlic, soy sauce, and a hint of spice. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it offers a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors with an optional kick of heat. Garnished with fresh parsley, this dish is both simple to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage

  • 4-6 sausage links (pork or chicken, depending on preference)

Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sausages: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage links and cook, turning occasionally, until they are evenly browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes depending on size. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Make the Honey Garlic Glaze: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn it. Add the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  3. Combine Sausages and Glaze: Return the cooked sausages to the skillet with the glaze. Toss the sausages in the glaze, turning frequently to coat them evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  4. Season and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the sausages for a bright garnish. Serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • You can use pork or chicken sausage based on your dietary preference.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
  • Dijon mustard is optional but adds a nice tang to the glaze.
  • Red pepper flakes provide heat; omit or adjust to taste.
  • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
