Description

Delightfully sweet and festive, these Sugar Cookie Truffles combine crushed sugar cookies blended with creamy softened cream cheese, coated in vanilla-flavored melting wafers, and decorated with colorful sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or a sweet treat anytime, these no-bake truffles are easy to prepare and yield bite-sized pieces bursting with classic sugar cookie flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 2 cups crushed sugar cookies (about 10-12 sugar cookies)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Coating & Decoration

  • 1 bag (10 oz) vanilla-flavored melting wafers
  • Red & green sprinkles, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cookie Truffle Mixture: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or tin foil. Crush sugar cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin. In a mixing bowl, combine the cookie crumbs and softened cream cheese, mixing thoroughly until well combined into a uniform dough.
  2. Form Truffle Balls: Roll the cookie and cream cheese mixture into 1 tablespoon-sized balls. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet in an even arrangement. Freeze the formed truffles for 10 minutes to firm them up for easier coating.
  3. Coat Truffles: Melt the vanilla-flavored melting wafers according to the package instructions, typically in short intervals in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each frozen truffle into the melted wafers to fully coat. Return the coated truffles to the baking sheet. Optionally, drizzle extra melted wafers atop the truffles and immediately sprinkle with red and green sprinkles for decoration.
  4. Chill and Serve: Place coated truffles back into the freezer for 5 minutes to set the coating. After setting, store the truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve to maintain their shape and freshness.

Notes

  • Use perfectly softened cream cheese for easiest mixing and best texture.
  • Ensure the sugar cookies are crushed finely for smooth, uniform truffles.
  • Chilling the truffles before and after coating helps with handling and prevents melting.
  • Decorate with any colored sprinkles or edible glitter for different occasions.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
