Description

A flavorful and quick steak and shrimp stir-fried noodle dish combining tender flank steak, succulent shrimp, and fresh vegetables tossed in a savory Asian-inspired sauce. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner that balances protein, vegetables, and noodles in a vibrant, tasty meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins

  • 6 ounces flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 6 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined

Noodles

  • 8 ounces stir-fry noodles or lo mein noodles, cooked and drained

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Oils & Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Cook the steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced flank steak with salt and pepper. Add the steak to the hot pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the shrimp: In the same pan, add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak.
  4. Stir-fry the vegetables: Add garlic, grated ginger, red bell pepper slices, shredded carrots, sliced green onions, and snap peas to the pan. Stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the vegetables are just tender but still crisp.
  5. Add noodles and sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the pan along with the prepared sauce mixture. Toss everything together thoroughly to ensure the noodles are coated and heated through.
  6. Combine proteins and finish: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the pan. Toss to combine evenly and cook for another minute to warm through.
  7. Serve: Transfer to plates or bowls. Optionally garnish with sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions before serving hot.

Notes

  • Substitute flank steak with ribeye or sirloin for different textures and flavors.
  • Use any available vegetables such as broccoli, mushrooms, or bok choy if preferred.
  • Adjust the sauce by adding chili paste for heat or extra hoisin sauce for additional sweetness.
  • Ensure noodles are cooked and drained before stir-frying to prevent sogginess.
  • Cook steak and shrimp quickly over high heat to keep them tender and juicy.
