Description
A simple and delicious recipe for melt-in-your-mouth chicken breasts, seasoned with a blend of spices and perfectly seared before finishing in the oven for juicy, tender results.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Seasoning & Garnish
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken breasts.
- Season Chicken: Coat the chicken breasts evenly with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper over them to ensure they are well seasoned.
- Heat Skillet and Melt Butter: Place a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan for searing.
- Sear Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the hot skillet and sear each side for 2-3 minutes until they develop a golden brown crust.
- Bake Chicken: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake the chicken breasts for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), ensuring the chicken is cooked through and juicy.
- Rest Chicken: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute, making the meat tender and moist.
- Garnish and Serve: Slice the chicken breasts, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately for a flavorful meal.
Notes
- Using an ovenproof skillet allows you to sear and bake the chicken in the same pan, saving cleanup time.
- For even cooking, choose chicken breasts of similar size and thickness.
- Letting the chicken rest after baking ensures better moisture retention and juicier meat.
- Adjust seasoning according to your taste preferences.
- Internal temperature is key; use a meat thermometer to check doneness for safety and optimum texture.
