Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Prepare the Italian meatballs and mashed potatoes according to their respective recipes linked in the Notes section to ensure authentic flavors and texture.
- Preheat and Assemble: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly across the bottom of the dish. Arrange the cooked meatballs evenly on top of the mashed potatoes layer.
- Bake Initial Layer: Bake the assembled casserole for 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through and the layers start to meld together nicely.
- Add Cheese and Finish Baking: Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the meatballs. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
