Description

Delight in these Lemon Custard Cheesecake Crescent Rolls, a perfect blend of tangy lemon curd and creamy cheesecake filling wrapped in buttery crescent roll dough. Quick to prepare and baked to golden perfection, these treats are ideal for breakfasts, brunches, or light desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional, for extra zing)

Topping

  • 1/4 cup lemon curd
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, and optional lemon zest until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Prepare dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles to prepare for filling.
  4. Add cream cheese mixture: Spread about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese filling onto each triangle, leaving a small border around the edges to prevent overflow when rolling.
  5. Add lemon curd: Place a small dollop, approximately 1/2 teaspoon, of lemon curd on top of the cream cheese layer on each triangle.
  6. Roll crescent rolls: Carefully roll up each triangle starting from the wide end toward the tip to enclose the filling completely, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar for an elegant finish and serving warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For extra lemon flavor, use fresh lemon zest in the filling.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smoother filling consistency.
  • Do not overfill the crescent triangles to avoid leaking during baking.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Powdered sugar dusting is optional but adds a nice sweetness and decorative touch.
