Description

A simple and flavorful Honey Mustard Chicken recipe featuring juicy, oven-baked chicken breasts coated in a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce, perfect for a quick and delicious family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it is ready for baking the chicken.
  2. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix together the honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to create the flavorful honey mustard sauce.
  3. Heat Skillet: Place an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil, allowing it to heat up before cooking the chicken.
  4. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper to enhance their flavor before cooking.
  5. Sear Chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and develop a good crust.
  6. Add Sauce: Pour the prepared honey mustard sauce evenly over the browned chicken breasts in the skillet.
  7. Bake Chicken: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven, garnish the chicken with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked.
  • If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, transfer the chicken and sauce to a baking dish before baking.
  • Adjust garlic quantity according to your taste preference.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the honey mustard mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
