Scale
Almond Butter Ingredients
- 2 cups raw unsalted almonds
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, adjust to taste
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or any neutral-flavored oil (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Measure and gather 2 cups of raw unsalted almonds. If you choose to use sweeteners like maple syrup or honey, and coconut oil for creaminess, have these ready as well.
- Blend the Almonds: Place the almonds in a high-speed blender or food processor. Start blending on a low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend continuously for about 5 to 10 minutes until the almonds break down and form a thick, creamy paste. Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides for even blending.
- Add Salt and Optional Ingredients: Once the almond mixture is creamy, add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt. If desired, add maple syrup or honey and coconut oil at this point. Blend again for another 2 to 3 minutes until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Adjust Consistency: If the almond butter is too thick, add additional coconut oil a little at a time and blend until you reach the smooth, creamy texture you prefer.
- Taste and Store: Taste your almond butter and adjust the sweetness or saltiness as needed. Transfer the finished almond butter to a sealed jar and store it in a cool, dry place or refrigerate for freshness. Enjoy as a spread, dip, or ingredient in your favorite dishes.
Notes
- You can use raw or dry roasted almonds based on preference, but raw almonds provide a fresh flavor.
- Blending time may vary depending on your blender or food processor’s power.
- Adding oil is optional and affects creaminess and spreadability.
- Store almond butter in an airtight container; it can last up to 2 weeks refrigerated.
- For a different flavor profile, consider adding cinnamon or vanilla extract during blending.
