Description

These delicious sliders are made with a blend of ground beef and pork, seasoned with onions and burger spices, baked between Hawaiian sweet rolls, and topped with melted American cheese and everything bagel seasoning for a perfect party appetizer or casual dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon burger seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Toppings & Assembly

  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted (divided)
  • 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Set an oven rack in the center of your oven and preheat it to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with a sheet pan rack. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, diced onions, salt, and burger seasoning, mixing gently until just incorporated.
  2. Shape and Bake Meat: Lay a sheet of parchment paper on your work surface. Press the meat mixture onto the parchment paper and shape it into an 8 by 12-inch rectangle. Place the parchment paper with the shaped meat on the sheet pan rack. Cover the meat with another sheet of parchment paper, then place a second sheet pan on top to press the meat flat. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 150°F.
  3. Prepare Buns: While the meat cooks, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Brush both bottom and top halves of the rolls with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Once the meat is cooked, remove the top sheet pan and then the pan with the meat from the oven. Carefully peel off the top parchment paper to reveal the large cooked meat patty. Using two spatulas, transfer the meat patty onto the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer the meat evenly with 6 slices of American cheese. Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese. Brush the tops with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle evenly with everything bagel seasoning.
  5. Bake Again: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Slice the large slider sandwich into individual pieces and serve warm on a platter.

Notes

  • For best results, use a kitchen thermometer to ensure the meat reaches a safe internal temperature of 150°F.
  • Feel free to substitute American cheese with cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
  • The everything bagel seasoning adds a savory crunch but can be omitted or replaced with sesame seeds if preferred.
  • Make sure not to overmix the meat mixture to keep the sliders tender.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and reheated gently in the oven before serving.
