Description

Delicious and easy Ground Beef Tortilla Wraps packed with flavorful seasoned beef, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, and tomatoes, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or casual lunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce or salsa

Wrap and Toppings

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Hot sauce or jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Onion and Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds to release its aroma.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat to keep it lean.
  3. Season and Simmer: Season the beef with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in tomato sauce or salsa and let it simmer gently for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Warm Tortillas: Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable, making them easier to roll without cracking.
  5. Assemble Wraps: Spoon the beef mixture evenly onto each tortilla. Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and any optional hot sauce or jalapeños to your liking.
  6. Wrap and Serve: Fold in the sides and roll up the tortillas tightly from the bottom. Slice each wrap in half to serve warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • To make it spicier, add chopped jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper to the beef mixture.
  • Use whole wheat or corn tortillas for a different flavor and texture.
  • Leftover beef mixture can be refrigerated and used in tacos or salads within 2 days.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free tortillas.
