Ingredients
Scale
Bread Dough and Sugar Mixture
- 1 lb. Frozen Bread Dough, thawed
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (for sprinkling on top)
Butter and Icing
- 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 – 3 Tbsp Milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan for Baking: Lightly spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the bread.
- Thaw the Dough: Place the frozen bread dough in the prepared loaf pan and let it thaw for 4-7 hours until it is soft and pliable.
- Mix Sugar and Cinnamon: In a shallow dish, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp cinnamon to create the cinnamon-sugar coating for the bread.
- Cut the Dough: Make 5-6 horizontal slits across the top of the thawed dough to allow room for expansion and to help the cinnamon sugar penetrate the bread.
- Coat in Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top to infuse flavor and create a sweet crust.
- Top and Rise: Let the dough rise again in the loaf pan for 30 minutes at room temperature, then sprinkle 1/4 cup brown sugar evenly over the top for added sweetness and texture.
- Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.
- Bake: Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
- Prepare the Icing: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and 2-3 tablespoons milk until smooth to make a simple glaze.
- Finish and Serve: Once the bread has cooled slightly but is still warm, drizzle the icing over the top. Pull apart slices and enjoy the deliciously sweet and soft cinnamon bread.
Notes
- Allow sufficient thawing time for the bread dough to ensure even rising and baking.
- Adjust milk quantity in the icing for desired consistency—use less for thicker glaze.
- Use parchment paper to avoid the bread sticking to the pan.
- For a crunchier crust, sprinkle brown sugar just before baking as instructed.
- Serving warm enhances the flavor and texture of the bread.
