Description

Creamy Tuscan Ravioli is a rich and comforting Italian-inspired dish featuring cheese-filled ravioli smothered in a luscious garlic and Parmesan cream sauce, enhanced with baby spinach and tangy sun-dried tomatoes. This quick and easy skillet recipe is perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 1 25 oz package cheese ravioli

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded

Add-ins

  • 1 cup baby spinach, washed and chopped
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook Ravioli: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the cheese ravioli according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain well and set aside.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Make Cream Sauce: Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking continuously. Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Continue whisking and let the sauce come to a gentle bubble.
  4. Add Parmesan Cheese: Gradually whisk in the shredded Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and well combined.
  5. Incorporate Vegetables: Stir in the chopped baby spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spinach has wilted and softened.
  6. Toss Ravioli in Sauce: Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet and gently toss to fully coat the pasta in the creamy Tuscan sauce.
  7. Serve: Plate the ravioli immediately, optionally garnishing with extra Parmesan cheese for added flavor.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or milk for the heavy cream, but the sauce will be less rich.
  • Use fresh garlic instead of pre-minced for more pronounced flavor.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes can be substituted with roasted red peppers if preferred.
  • Make sure not to overcook the ravioli as they will cook further when tossed in the sauce.
  • This dish pairs well with a crisp green salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
