Ingredients
Scale
For the Crostini
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Toppings
- 4 ounces Brie cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (fresh or canned)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- Optional: chopped toasted pecans for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the crostini.
- Prepare Baguette Slices: Arrange the sliced baguette rounds on a baking sheet in a single layer. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil to help them toast evenly.
- Toast the Bread: Bake the bread slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes until they are lightly toasted and golden brown. Remove from the oven carefully.
- Add Brie Cheese: Place a slice of Brie cheese on top of each toasted baguette slice.
- Melt the Brie: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes, just until the Brie begins to melt but not fully liquefy.
- Top with Cranberry Sauce: Remove the crostini from the oven and spoon cranberry sauce over each piece, spreading it evenly to cover the melted Brie.
- Finish and Garnish: Drizzle honey over the crostini, then sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves, salt, and black pepper to taste. Optionally, garnish with chopped toasted pecans for added crunch and flavor.
- Serve: Serve immediately to enjoy the crostini warm with the melty Brie and flavorful toppings.
Notes
- For a savory twist, add a slice of prosciutto under the Brie before baking.
- Use either store-bought or homemade cranberry sauce depending on your preference.
- Perfect as an elegant appetizer for holiday parties or as part of a brunch spread.
