Description
Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate covered pretzels combining the perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. This recipe uses semi-sweet or milk chocolate melted to dip crisp mini pretzels, optionally topped with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or a white chocolate drizzle for festive flair. Ideal as a snack, party favor, or holiday edible gift.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Coating
- 12 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (or chocolate melting wafers)
Pretzels
- 10 oz mini pretzel twists or rods
Optional Toppings
- Sprinkles
- Crushed nuts
- Sea salt
- White chocolate drizzle
Instructions
- Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
- Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the pretzels: Dip each pretzel halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off before placing on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add toppings (optional): While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your choice of toppings such as sprinkles, crushed nuts, or sea salt over the pretzels to add texture and flavor.
- Set the chocolate: Let the pretzels sit at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes until the chocolate coating is fully set and firm.
- Store properly: Once set, store the chocolate covered pretzels in an airtight container to maintain freshness and crunch.
Notes
- Use pretzel rods for a more dramatic presentation or mini pretzel twists for bite-size treats.
- For added flair, drizzle melted white chocolate over the chocolate layer after it has set.
- These make excellent edible gifts and are perfect as party favors.
