Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor before cooking.
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook them until golden brown and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Deglaze Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon or spatula to scrape up any browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. This adds rich flavor to the sauce.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese fully melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon some sauce over them, and let simmer on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes to warm the chicken through and allow flavors to meld.
- Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken and sauce to add a fresh herbal note and appealing color.
Notes
- Ensure chicken breasts are patted dry before seasoning to get a nice golden crust.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, thin it with a splash of additional chicken broth or cream.
- Serve this dish with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to enjoy the flavorful sauce.
- For added vegetables, sauté mushrooms or spinach in step 3 before adding the chicken broth.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
