Ingredients
Scale
For Garlic Bread
- 1 large French baguette or Italian loaf
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Salad and Topping
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, sliced or shredded
- 4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup croutons
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to get it ready for baking the garlic bread and cheese.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined for a flavorful garlic spread.
- Slice and Butter Bread: Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter evenly over both halves of the bread, ensuring complete coverage for full flavor.
- Bake Bread: Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted and fragrant.
- Toss Caesar Salad: While the bread is baking, in a large bowl toss the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing, grated Parmesan, lemon juice, and black pepper until evenly coated and well mixed.
- Add Mozzarella and Bake: Remove the bread from the oven and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of each half. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese has melted and is bubbly.
- Top with Chicken and Salad: Remove the cheesy garlic bread from the oven. Top each half evenly with sliced or shredded cooked chicken breast. Spoon the Caesar salad mixture over the chicken layer.
- Add Croutons and Serve: Sprinkle croutons and additional Parmesan cheese over the salad-topped bread if desired. Slice into portions and serve immediately while warm and fresh.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken to save time and add flavor.
- For an extra burst of flavor, add garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the butter mixture.
- Assemble just before serving to keep the bread crisp and prevent sogginess.
