Base Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Add-ins
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir thoroughly until a thick dough forms that is well blended.
- Add Mix-ins: Fold in the toffee bits evenly throughout the dough. If you choose, gently incorporate the chocolate chips and chopped nuts at this stage to add texture and flavor.
- Press Dough: Transfer and press the dough mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, making sure it’s spread to the edges.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The bars are ready when the edges turn a golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 16 equal squares. Serve and enjoy these deliciously chewy toffee bars!
Notes
- You can substitute pecans or walnuts for the nuts depending on your preference or allergies.

- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- These bars freeze well – wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
- Chocolate chips and nuts are optional but add great texture and flavor.
