Description
A quick and comforting Buttered Noodles recipe featuring tender egg noodles tossed in rich, melted butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, and optionally garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Perfect as a simple side dish or light main course.
Ingredients
Scale
Noodles
- 8 oz (about 1/2 lb) egg noodles or pasta of choice (e.g. fettuccine or spaghetti)
Butter and Seasoning
- 3–4 tablespoons unsalted butter (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Optional Garnishes
- 1–2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the noodles and return them to the pot.
- Add butter and seasoning: Immediately add the butter to the hot noodles and toss gently until the butter melts and evenly coats the pasta. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Add optional toppings: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese if using, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley to add color and freshness.
- Serve: Serve the buttered noodles warm as a simple and satisfying side dish or a light main course. They pair wonderfully with grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, or can be enjoyed on their own.
Notes
- Use unsalted butter to control the saltiness of the dish.
- Cook noodles just until al dente to avoid mushy texture.
- Parmesan and parsley are optional but add flavor and brightness.
- Adjust butter quantity to your preference for richness.
- This recipe can be easily doubled or halved depending on servings.
