Ingredients
Scale
Overnight Oats Mixture
- ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup milk of choice
- ¼ cup brewed espresso (or strong coffee, cooled)
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (optional for creaminess)
- 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of cinnamon
For Serving
- Ice (for serving)
- Splash of milk or cream (optional topping)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a jar or container, add the rolled oats, milk, cooled brewed espresso, Greek yogurt if using, brown sugar, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed.
- Refrigerate Overnight: Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator. Allow it to chill and soak for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, so the oats absorb the liquids and the flavors meld together.
- Stir and Serve: In the morning, give the oats a thorough stir to combine any settled ingredients. Serve chilled, adding ice if desired, and finish with a splash of milk or cream to achieve that classic shaken espresso texture and flavor.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness according to your taste preference or substitute brown sugar with maple syrup.
- For added nutrition and energy, consider mixing in a scoop of protein powder or a spoonful of nut butter.
