Serve with lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce for a delicious meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Breading Station

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Other

  • Vegetable oil for frying or cooking spray for baking
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Skewers: Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.
  2. Preheat Cooking Equipment: If baking, preheat oven to 425°F. If frying, heat 1/2 inch vegetable oil in a large skillet to 350°F.
  3. Season Chicken: Season chicken pieces evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Thread Chicken: Thread seasoned chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a small space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Set Up Breading Station: Arrange three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and one with breadcrumbs combined with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  6. Bread Skewers: Lightly dredge each skewer in flour, dip into egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Cook Skewers: For frying, cook in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F. For baking, place skewers on greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, lightly spray with cooking spray, and bake 18-22 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  8. Serve: Serve warm with lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs and double dip in the egg and breadcrumb mixture.
  • These skewers can also be cooked in an air fryer at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Wooden skewers should be soaked to prevent burning whether baking or frying.
