Fudge Ingredients
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped Andes mints
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the fudge once set.
- Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate chips, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted and smooth, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add Flavorings: Remove the pan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and half of the chopped Andes mints, evenly distributing the mint pieces throughout the fudge mixture.
- Pour and Top: Pour the smooth fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chopped Andes mints on top for added texture and minty flavor.
- Chill to Set: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours until firm. Once set, cut the fudge into 16 squares and serve.
Notes
- Line the pan with parchment paper extending over the edges to easily lift out the fudge for cutting.
- Use low heat when melting to prevent the chocolate from burning and becoming grainy.
- For a richer flavor, substitute semisweet chocolate chips with bittersweet or dark chocolate chips.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Andes mints can be finely chopped or roughly chopped based on preference for texture.
